Baegamsan (Mt.) is 741m high facing the vast Honam plain and belongs to Naejangsan (Mt.) national park.
Since time immemorial, it has been said that Baegyang is for spring, and Naejang for autumn. And the beautiful scenery of Baegamsan (Mt.) is no less than Naejangsan (Mt.).
Especially, Baekhakbong (Peak) which looks like a stork opening its wings, changes its color each season. So Choi Namseon, Yukdang especially praised this mountain for 'there are white, sharp, clear, and mystic taste'. Baegamsan (Mt.) is a national park holding Baegyangsa (Temple) and Naejangsa (Temple), and has well equipped with transportation, accommodation, and foods.
Baekhakbong (Peak), Sangwangbong (Peak), Sajabong (Peak), and many other rocks of strange shapes exist, and the physical aspect is quite steep. Especially, nutmeg forests and grey striped squirrels are famous here. Baegyangsa (Temple) is the head temple of Jogye Order, the center of 18 parishes.
The name Baegyangsa (Temple) derived from a legend. When Hwanyangseonsa (Zen Priest) preached there, a white sheep earned wisdom listening to him.
