Songnisan Maltijae Recreation Forest is located at the gate of
Songnisan (Mt.) which is 8km away from Boeun-eup. The way to
the recreation forest goes through a steep hilly road that
winds 12 times which was built by King Taejo of Koryeo
dynasty. Cheonhwangbong (Peak), Birobong (Peak), Ipseokdae
(Pedestal), Munjangdae (Pedestal), Gwaneumbong (Peak), and
other peaks stretch to the north bordering between
Chungcheongnam-do and Gyeongsangbuk-do. Maltijae is located
along the range stretching from the highest peak towards
Boeun-eup. Jangjae Reservoir and recreation forest
harmoniously form a magnificent landscape and Maltijae is
stocked with both coniferous and broad leaved trees making it
the perfect place for hiking, educational excursions, and
relaxation.
